Recap: Mr. Bill Cannon, Senior Wish

In conjunction with Senior Wish, a national 501c3 whose vision is to initiate a cultural change by granting the wish of a lifetime to deserving seniors throughout the United States, the Preservation Hall Foundation helped bring Mr.Bill Cannon’s wish to life. Bill Cannon, 84 from Kingsport, TN has had a passion for music ever since his Uncle gave him a clarinet at the age of 15. He played the clarinet and the saxophone, and as a younger man played in a  couple of clubs in New York City. Bill’s wish was to be able to immerse himself in the culture of Jazz music in New Orleans since he has never been able to experience it.

Bill Cannon visited Preservation Hall on Friday, August 4th to catch Leroy Jones and the Preservation Hall Jazz Masters. He had a throughly good time, and was beaming with joy during conversations with Daniel “Wennie” Farrow between set breaks. Take a look at his visit to Preservation Hall below:
